Cap and Gown Orders

Cap and gown orders will arrive on May
29th. Jostens will be in the commons
during the lunch periods to distribute
orders. If you are not available on that
day to pick up your order, you can see
Mrs. Heckner in the Business Office starting on May 30th.

Gold Tassel Ceremony

Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. During this event, we will be recognizing each of our senior honor students by having them process into the auditorium and sit in a reserved section in front of the auditorium.

At this time, each honor student will be called to the stage to receive a gold tassel for his or her graduation cap and an academic certificate. We ask that the senior honor students meet in the band room no later than 6:10 p.m. on this evening so we can organize the ceremony procession.

Graduation Rehearsal

All seniors who plan to participate in the graduation ceremony must attend the rehearsal on Thursday, June 7th, at 12:00 noon. The rehearsal should be done by 2:30 p.m.

A senior group picture will be taken in the Emanuel Gym at the rehearsal on June 7th. A portrait order envelope will be available in the Business Office if you would like to purchase the group picture. Completed envelopes with payment must be turned in at the picture session. Orders will only be accepted at that time.

The commencement ceremony will take place on June 7, 2018, at 6:00 p.m., in the Appleton West Community Auditorium.

Please tell your parents and other guests to be there by that time. The auditorium will open at 5:15 p.m. for individuals holding regular seating tickets. On graduation night, please report to your homeroom teacher in the gymnasium no later than 5:15 p.m.

Closed circuit television will be available in the LMC (Library Media Center) for guests without tickets.

For the ceremony, appropriate apparel for graduating senior men includes: dress slacks (non-denim), dress shirt with a collar, dress shoes (not tennis shoes or sandals), and socks under their graduation gowns.  Apparel for graduating senior women includes: an appropriate dress or blouse and skirt or slacks (non-denim), and dress shoes or sandals under their gowns.

Inappropriate distractions, both verbal and those which include noise makers, balloons, liquid string, beach balls, toys, and toilet paper, will not be allowed. Family and friends in attendance are requested to make this a dignified and special event in the lives of our seniors.

Initially, each graduate will be allocated four (4) tickets for the graduation ceremony. Students who wish to request extra tickets may fill out a form in the Business Office. When completing your request, please put down the total additional tickets you would like (excluding the four you will automatically receive).

We will confirm the number of tickets reserved for your family by the first week in May, so all requests for extra tickets must be received by April 13, 2018. Again, during the first week in May, graduates will be notified about the number of tickets that have been reserved for family members. Commencement tickets will be available for pick-up by the student in the Business Office on Tuesday, May 31st.

Should your family not need all four (4) tickets on reserve, please notify the Business Office at 832-6219, ext. 7541 as soon as possible so those tickets can be redistributed to classmates’ families who need them.

Limited Seating

Due to limited seating, we encourage you to keep invitations for the ceremony in the auditorium to immediate family. Overflow seating will be available with closed circuit television in the Library Media Center, located on the first floor.

Handicap Accommodations

For those guests needing wheelchair or other handicap accommodations, please notify the Business Office at 832-6219, ext. 7541 with your request or have your student inform the office when requesting additional tickets. You will then be issued a ticket for wheelchair or other special needs seating in the auditorium.

Graduation After Party

Following the ceremony, we encourage every graduate to attend the after-graduation party from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. at West High School. This event marks the last time the class will be together as a group.  We also hope to see many of you, the parents, at this event.
