All former and current coaches, teachers, friends and student-athletes who participated in one of the many sports for girls at Appleton West High School over the past 50+ years are welcome to join us for a night of celebration as we mark the 50th anniversary of Title IX which, among many other things, worked to level the playing field for all students interested in athletic participation at their school.

Event Details Q and A

When is this event taking place? 
Friday, January 28, 2022. The anchor event is the double header varsity boys basketball game at 6:00 p.m. and the varsity girls basketball game at 7:30 p.m.

Is this event being broadcast?
W7 Productions will be in attendance to livestream the event.

What else is happening that evening?
At 6:00 p.m. there will be a social in the Appleton West Early American Room. Cake, snacks and soft beverages will be served.

Door prizes will be given out. We will hear a short welcome from Head Girls Basketball Coach Ally Gwidt & Head Girls Volleyball Coach John Richards. Please stay for the girls basketball game at 7:30 p.m.

What door should we enter for the event? 
Door 47 which leads into Richard Emanuel Gymnasium just off Badger Avenue.

Do I need a ticket to get into the game? 
Yes, you do. You can purchase your digital ticket at this link. We do take cash at the door as well. $5 for adults, $2 for children students.

Is anything happening at half-time? 
We plan to recognize some of our former and current female coaches and athletes during the girls game.

What is happening after the game? 
All former student-athletes and coaches from Appleton West girls sports teams from the last 50 years will have a group photo taken in the bleachers 10 minutes after the game is over.

Will there be any keepsakes from the event? 
Yes, a special game program highlighting some of the history of girls athletics at West will be made available at no cost that evening.
